What drivers ask me first
How much does it cost?
It depends on the charge and the court, so I won't quote a number before I've read the paper. After a first meeting you get the fee in writing, what it covers and what it doesn't, such as fines, court costs and classes the court orders.
Do you speak Spanish?
Yes. Lorena speaks Spanish and English, and so does our case manager. Torsten and Oksana work in English. If you want everything in Spanish, Lorena stays on your case.
Is texting safe?
Texting is fine for the basics: your name, what is on the paper and your court date. Phones and carriers keep messages, so save the details of what happened for a call or a meeting.
Do I need a lawyer for a traffic ticket?
Not always, but not every ticket is minor. If it carries points, a suspension, a reckless driving label or a commercial license, talk to a lawyer before you pay it. Paying counts as a plea.
I live out of state. Can you still help?
Often yes. I can appear for you at many hearings and meet by video or phone. The DMV deadline still applies to your license, so call right away.
Will I have to go to court?
Some dates need you in the room and some do not. For each date I tell you in advance whether you must attend and what will happen.
How long will it take?
A ticket can resolve in weeks. A DUI usually takes months, because the file and the tests take time to get. I give you the steps and what comes next, not a promise on timing.
What if I can't pay everything at once?
Ask on the first call. Payment plans may be possible, and I would rather arrange one than have you go without help.
